Special Olympics Northern California enriches the lives of more than 21,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their communities in Northern California through sports, education, and athlete health.
All of our programs are at no cost to the participants.
Our athletes are like any other athlete, they like to train, they like to compete and win or lose, they always try their best. The confidence and self-esteem they gain on the playing field carries over onto the playing field of life, helping to make them contributing members of their community. We believe that Special Olympics is more than sports, it is "Training for Life!"
Team Folsom Hill provides sports training and competition to about 120 athletes ranging in age from 8 to a 70! We currently provide opportunities in seven different sports. Each sport season consists of 6 to 8 weeks of training and concludes with a Regional Competition in the greater Sacramento area.

All training sessions are held at various locals in the El Dorado Hills and Folsom area.
SONC has made the decision to cancel all upcoming competitions and practices through March 31, 2020, due to the concerns surrounding the spread of the coronavirus. Please read this letter from David Solo President & CEO of SONC.
Folsom Hills Athletes will participate in the Regional Bocce Games on Sunday, April 26 at the Lincoln Hills Bocce Courts. Training will start in late March at the Promontory Park Bocce Courts in El Dorado Hills.
Spring Games are moving to Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom. Folsom Hills athletes will participate in Swimming and Track & Field on Saturday, May 9, Training for both sports will start in March.
Team Folsom Hills will once again feel the "Thrill of the Chill" as team members will plunge into the cold waters of Lake Natomas on Saturday, February 9.
TFH was recognized as the #1 fundraising "team" in 2018 raising over $9,000 to support the athlete of Special Olympics Northern California.
Folsom Hills athletes, along with Law Enforcement Officers from our community, serve as celebrity hosts and hostesses at local restaurants in the Folsom area. Look for this featured event in the spring and fall each year. Information will be posted as these events are announce
The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will be held in Seattle, July 1 - 6, 2018. Approximately 4,000 Special Olympics athletes and their coaches from all 50 states and will participate in these games.
Northern California is proud to have 54 athletes participating in the Games in 8 sports. Team Folsom HIlls will be represented by one male 18-hole Individual Golfer, one male Track & Field athlete and one Track & Field Coach.
